VDC Technician | Hi Power Electric
At Hi Power Electric, our team is built on strong connections, continuous learning, and people who are willing to grow. This month, we’re highlighting Jice Franklin, a VDC Technician who has been with Hi Power for nearly nine months and is already making an impact.
Getting Started at Hi Power
Jice’s path to Hi Power is a unique one — and a great example of the relationships that help shape our team. He was introduced to the opportunity through his dad, who encouraged him to apply when the position opened up.
Since joining, Jice has stepped into the world of VDC with a focus on learning, problem-solving, and contributing to real project outcomes.
A Day in the Life
A typical day for Jice starts with getting set up at his computer, putting on a podcast or music, and diving into the projects he’s been assigned.
Working closely with team members like Rick and Garrett, he collaborates to work through questions and keep projects moving forward efficiently. The open communication within the team makes it easy to ask questions and find solutions quickly.
What He Enjoys Most
For Jice, one of the most rewarding parts of his role is the problem-solving aspect of the work. Each project brings new challenges, and he enjoys figuring out the best way to approach them.
One standout moment so far has been completing his first set of rough books — a milestone that marked his first fully completed project and a significant step forward in his role.
What Sets Hi Power Apart
When asked what makes Hi Power different, Jice pointed to the strong sense of community within the company.
“Everyone has access to everyone else, so problems can be brought up very easily.”
He describes the culture in two words: open and transparent — a reflection of the collaborative environment that helps both individuals and projects succeed.
Outside of Work
When he’s not working, Jice enjoys spending time on the golf course and playing music.
One thing that might surprise people: he plays the cello, adding a creative side to his skillset outside the job.

Looking Ahead
As he continues to grow in his role, Jice is looking forward to taking on larger, more complex projects and continuing to build his experience within the VDC team.
At Hi Power Electric, it’s people like Jice who help move projects forward while strengthening the culture that sets our team apart.
